Methodology
A verifiable measurement, not a magic score.
Every figure in a Replik report is linked to the answers and sources actually observed. Here is how we measure, what our metrics mean, and the limits we acknowledge.
How a measurement works
- 1
Understanding your business
We read your website and Google profile: business, area, services. You approve the profile before any measurement.
- 2
Question panel
Realistic prospect questions, suggested and then editable by you. The panel is kept in your project.
- 3
Independent querying
Each question is asked separately to each AI, several times, through distinct requests that contain no information about you.
- 4
Answer analysis
Each answer is analyzed: businesses mentioned, recommended, order of mention, sources stated.
- 5
Cross-checking with Google
Google and Google Maps searches on the same intents, search volumes and a technical audit of your website.
- 6
Action plan
The gaps observed are turned into actions ranked by impact, each linked to the findings that justify it.
Our metrics, defined
- Mention rate
- Share of AI answers that mention your business, across all questions and repetitions.
- Recommendation rate
- Share of answers in which the AI does not just mention you, but explicitly recommends you.
- Average position
- Average rank at which you appear when the AI gives a list (1 = mentioned first).
- Share of voice
- Your number of mentions compared with that of the competitors mentioned for the same questions.
- Sources
- Domains (websites, directories, review platforms) the AIs rely on, when they state them.
- Google and Maps position
- Your rank in Google results and in the Google Maps local ranking for the searches measured.
The limits we acknowledge
- AI answers vary from one session to another: that is why we repeat the questions and present rates, not certainties.
- An AI may personalize its answers depending on the user, their location or history: our neutral sessions provide a benchmark, not the exact answer each prospect will see.
- AIs evolve: a measurement is a snapshot at a given date. To measure progress, you need to measure again on the same questions a few weeks later.
- Not all AIs state their sources: the source analysis covers the answers that cite them.
- Search volumes are average monthly estimates, useful for comparing queries with each other.
What we do not do
We do not promise any ranking, we do not buy reviews, we do not generate fake content, and we never present an estimate as a measurement. The examples shown on this website are marked as fictional. Replik is not affiliated with any AI provider or with Google.
